Professor Han Sang Kim is a medical oncologist and physician-scientist specializing in colorectal cancer at Yonsei Cancer Center and Yonsei University College of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. through the Physician-Scientist Program at Yonsei University and completed postdoctoral research in Dr. David Lyden’s laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he studied cancer metastasis, pre-metastatic niche formation, and extracellular vesicle biology.
His current research focuses on the mechanisms of colorectal cancer metastasis, particularly the roles of cancer-derived extracellular vesicles, Fusobacteria, and tumor microenvironmental remodeling. He aims to identify early biological changes that occur before overt metastasis and to develop novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. As a clinician-scientist, he actively integrates translational research with clinical trials and precision oncology for patients with colorectal cancer.
